There will be cake! There will be meditation! There will be John! There will be voices from the Sangha! There will be singing bowls! There will be a time capsule! There will be future visioning! There will be joy and celebration! A good time will be had by all!
Event will be held under a tent in the back yard. Bring layers in case it is cold.
Light refreshments will be available at the end of the event. Please eat before you come.
Parking is limited. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.
TIME CAPSULE:
During the celebration, there will be a ceremony to bury a time capsule.
Our Time Capsule will contain items that are a snapshot of Mountain Stream’s culture... yesterday and today.
The Time Capsule is currently on display at the Center, where Sangha is encouraged to bring items in advance of the event - or any time up to the day of the celebration on Sunday, September 24.
Guidelines for items to put into the Time Capsule:
1. Paper Documents & Photos
For best preservation:
♥ Copy your photos, articles and documents on acid-free, lignin-free, buffered paper. In general, the thicker the paper, the better
♥ Plastic sheet protectors should be archival grade, to avoid deterioration and damage to the items they are meant to protect
♥ Remove staples, paperclips and rubber bands
♥ Do not use rubber cement or stickers on documents or artifacts
♥ Items should be no bigger than 8 1/2“ x 11“
Ideas: Newspaper articles about MSM, local news of the day, personal letters or essays, committee reports, newsletters, bookmarks, postcards, photos
2. Small Objects & Artifacts
No liquids please
Ideas: Small handmade or one-of-a-kind items, charms, crystals, non-bulky textiles, music/talks on CD or SD card
