What is Mindful Movement?
“When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace and love.”
Thich Nhat Hanh

We warmly welcome you to Mountain Stream’s Mindful Movement classes. Our village temple is a beautiful place to practice mindfulness together, learn to care for our body as a sacred temple through various movement based practices. It is our sincere intention that these practices will promote well-being, deepen our wisdom and support us all on our path towards liberation. We believe that heart-centered mindfulness is the key to staying present to navigate through today’s complex challenges in our personal lives and our collective lives on Earth.

In our sessions, we tune into each breath and each moment as we begin to move. Whether we are moving through a gentle Qigong sequence, yoga poses, are holding restorative poses or experiencing guided meditation, we  have the opportunity to become grounded and fully aware of the present moment.

With compassion and caring for self, we witness our thoughts and emotions as they flow through us during the practice. We learn to feel energy and vibrations in the body. As the practice deepens, we become spacious and aware of the inner landscape of our bodies while simultaneously aware of the outer world. During practice, awareness expands and contracts from part to the whole, from individual to collective. We concentrate on creating ease and well-being in hopes this energy will ripple out from those who attend. Together, mindfulness practice becomes the ground in which peace, harmony and love flourish.
